Tersano Inc. is a privately held innovations company based in Windsor, Ontario with offices and distribution centers throughout Canada, U.S.A., Australia and Europe.

The company develops and manufactures devices that produce stabilized aqueous ozone (SAO) — the simplest, safest, most sustainable way to clean and sanitize.

Tersano's Founder

A native of Canada, Steve Hengsperger received his Honors B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a minor degree in Managemental Sciences from the University of Waterloo. Today, he lives in Windsor, Ontario, with his wife and two children.

In 1994, Hengsperger founded Advantage Engineering Inc. Advantage provides advanced computer-aided design and machining technologies, which offer different prototyping options on a variety of state-of-the-art equipment for short or long production runs.

A long-time advocate of reducing the need for toxic chemicals in the home, Hengsperger founded Tersano Inc. in 2001 to develop cutting-edge household countertop systems that sanitize drinking water, food and household surfaces.

The cultures at both Tersano Inc. and Advantage Engineering Inc. are founded on Hengsperger’s belief that employees must maintain the highest standard of honesty and integrity in their business affairs and that each staff member be empowered within a corporate culture of respect.

This workplace culture has driven the success of each of his business initiatives, and helped Advantage win the Company of the Year award from the Windsor District Chamber of Commerce in the year 2000.

2001

Tersano Inc. is founded to develop cutting-edge household countertop systems.

2006

Tersano Inc. launched its first product line geared toward the domestic home market.

2006

Tersano’s cleaning and sanitizing system was declared one of the best inventions in 2006 by Time Magazine.

2008

Steve Hengsperger received the Premier’s Catalyst Award for innovation in Ontario, Canada. Lotus technology has been featured in publications such as Today’s Parent, The Globe and Mail and The Washington Post. It has also received television media attention when the system was featured on CNBC “The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch” as well as the popular US TV show “The Rachel Ray Show”.

2008 to present

Since 2008, Tersano Inc. has turned its R&D focus to the commercial and institutional market with the launch of its innovative lotus® PRO system. This system is now widely used in the hospitality, health care, manufacturing, education, retail and public sectors throughout North America and Europe.
