Managing a 21-story office building is a challenge. Managing a 21-story office building to a LEED Gold standard is a tremendous challenge. And for the past three years, Dorigo has met that challenge.
"Let’s face it, it’s 2017 and we can’t be pouring cleaning chemicals down our drains and into our environments," explains Dorigo. "My tenants don’t want chemical fragrances in their offices; they don’t want to breathe in the fumes. But it’s still my responsibility to clean and sanitize our spaces."
Dorigo has been responsible for maintaining the 358,000 square feet of office space in the award-winning tower and part of her responsibility is ensuring the building’s cleaning processes meet the LEED Green Housekeeping Standards.
"When I got here, our contractors, Hallmark Housekeeping Services recommended I use stabilized aqueous ozone to clean and sanitize to this highly sustainable standard,” explains Dorigo. "Tersano was invited to give a presentation and we gave SAO a shot."
15 workers clean and sanitize the floors, windows, countertops, desks and other hard surfaces from 5:00 - 9:00 pm every night. "We even clean our carpets with the stabilized aqueous ozone,” she shares. “If it didn’t work, I’d hear about it. And I don’t."
Dorigo currently relies on one dispenser to supply all 21 floors with the cleaning and sanitizing liquid. "It’s working out so well, I think we’re going to add another dispenser to increase our productivity," she explains. "Honestly, our tenants are not very concerned about what we use to clean the building - as long as it works. And stabilized aqueous ozone works."
